AWSUM had a chat with Ali Osman-Bosch, first team rugby captain of SACS. We asked him about their season and what his expectations are for the game against Wynberg Boys’ High School.

What is the highlight of your team’s rugby season this year?

Beating Bishops on the Piley Rees after 7 years of losses.

How do you motivate your team?

I usually motivate my team by finding our personal reasons and a reason as a team.

Who is your vice-captain and how does he support you?
Zetio Vilandy is our vice-captain. Whenever I need help, he is there and whenever the team needs an extra edge after our motivation, he brings it.

Are you happy with your team’s line-up for the match against Wynberg? Do you have any injuries in your team?

I’m more than happy, we just have one concussion to our outside centre, Daniel Dayaram.

What do you as a team want to achieve this year? What will make you proud?

Making our coaches and school proud and beating Wynberg on our home patch. I’m already immensely proud of my team and them putting a great shift in every week, makes me very proud.

What are your plans for the future?

To study and hopefully sign a professional contract with a possibility of going abroad.
