AWSUM had a chat with Seth Bradford first team rugby captain of SACS. We asked him about their season and what his expectations are for the game against Wynberg Boys’ High School.

How is the composition of the team for this weekend? Are there any injuries? The team is looking ready. There are no major injuries and no significant changes to the lineup.

Are you happy with your results as a team this year? Yes, the results have been good so far, despite letting a few games slip towards the end. We still have an important job to do with the last three games.

What do you expect from Wynberg on Saturday? We expect a physical and strong side. That’s how they’ve played for the past couple of years.

What does being captain of SACS mean to you? Being the captain of SACS means playing for the history and legacy of the jersey. There is a lot of history behind it which I am proud to represent.

Many people will want to know how your day goes before the big game. Do you have any rituals or traditions? I try to get in the zone and cut out as many distractions as possible. It’s about making the main thing the main thing.

How do you and the team deal with the expectations of your fans and spectators? We just trust our preparation and do what we have done in training. Never doubting ourselves ensures that the team will deliver on the day.

Which famous player (from any sport) do you look up to and why? I look up to Dupont. Although he’s not the biggest, he’s one of the most well-rounded players and has minimal flaws in his game.
