Hoërskool Swellendam learner  Tobie Nel participated in the Cape Town Cycle Tour. The tour covers a 109 km route around the Cape Peninsula and attracted nearly 20 000 participants this year.

The race starts at the Grand Parade near the Castle of Good Hope in Cape Town, passes several well-known landmarks along the peninsula, and finishes near the Cape Town Stadium.

Tobie competed in the U.17 Boys Division, starting in Group 3B early that morning at 7:09 am. He finished strongly with an excellent time of 3 hours and 54 minutes, placing 35th out of 154 riders in his division.Well done, Tobie!
