Knysna Cricket Festival was the ideal destination for our U13A boys. The beautiful captivating scenery, combined
with this upcoming team’s passion for cricket, made an unforgettable touring experience for our boys. Results of
u13a cricket tour to Knysna over the school holidays were as follows:

Aphiwe Mnyanda was back at it again! The SA u19 team qualified for the semi finals of the CSA T20 competition
which took place in East London over the school holidays. Aphiwe flew in late to join the Graeme 1st XI at the Cape Schools Festival in EL, and then joined up with the SA u19s. That is dedication!

How special is this! THREE Old Graemians are representing the NMU Madibaz at the Varsity Cup T20 Cricket
Tournament (Bavu Manyakanyaka, Chris Gleaves and Mark Amm – all OG 2018). Amm (58) and Manyakanyaka (20) got NMU off to the perfect start with a 74 run opening partnership which set up the win in their first game. They beat UCT but lost to NWU, which left them with a straight shoot out against Tuks to make the semi final.
We were thrilled to then also learn that Mark Amm was selected in the team of the tournament! Amm opened the innings for the Madibaz during the tournament slotting in the top order as a power hitter. Amm made 167 runs at an average of 41.8 during the tournament. He also hit two half-centuries and bowled superbly.

During the holidays our 1st team played in the 54th Cape Schools Cricket Festival at Selbourne College. The Cape
Schools’ Cricket Week is the longest standing cricket festival in South Africa. Since 1968 the Cricket Week has seen 53 years (not including 2020 – due to Covid) of highly competitive cricket between the Western Cape and the Eastern Cape Schools. As time has passed, additional schools have been invited to expand the festival, and this has created an incredible opportunity to enhance the game of cricket.
