The community of Gordon Road Girls’ School takes this opportunity to welcome Dr Sheeren Saloojee [PhD] as the 14th principal appointed to GRGS. Leading in the Department of Education for the past 28 years she brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience.
Dr Salojee considers herself a lifelong learner because regardless of the different caps she wears – that of being a principal /teacher, wife, mother, grand mum, a trade unionist leader, she has in her personal capacity found the time to go beyond the call of duty and beyond the textbooks to develop herself professionally. Dr Saloojee has a Doctorate in Education [ PhD]: Teacher Development, as well as many awards during her studies and teaching career which we know empowers and equips her with the skills needed to lead GRGS into an exciting future.
“I believe it is our responsibility to work as a team to maintain and to continue to build a supportive and collaborative spirit at GRGS. Together as a school, we will build on the traditions of the past and meet the challenges of the future in innovative and exciting ways.” “I do believe that at GRGS they are proactive in training teachers and aiding the girls to thrive in our exciting yet challenging world. Like any teacher or parent I just want to see happy, flourishing girls.” Gordon Road Girls’ School prides itself in having provided 110 years of quality education to the girls of Durban.
