De La Salle Holy Cross College hosted their first ever Cheerleading Competition. It was an exciting day where the College and visiting cheer teams showcased their amazing talent coupled with hard work and determination. The event offered partner stunts, group stunts, Small all girl, large all girl, small coed and large coed divisions for primary school, high school and tertiary teams. All of the stunts had everyone holding their breath until the very last second – they were beautifully executed and an absolute pleasure to watch.

The athleticism and passion of the athletes was clearly evident and resulted in an incredible day which showcased the talent of the competitors. The spirit, support and camaraderie between all teams was an example of how sports can be – the competition is on the field and everyone builds friendships and learns from each other when not competing. With this being the first live Cheerleading competition since March 2020, prize giving was met with great anticipation and excitement by athletes and spectators. Although a video submission competition was held during the previous year, nothing beats being back on the field in front of the judges and spectators!”
