Curro Somerset West High School celebrates Grade 10 learner Izaiah Solomon for his stellar performance at the Cape Town Chess Junior League 2025. As captain of the Stenietz U16 team, Izaiah led his squad to victory in the U16 A Section, securing four wins in four matches. The tournament, hosted at Meridian Pinehurst in Durbanville, featured 70 teams, marking the largest junior chess event in the Western Cape. His success has earned him a spot at the National High Schools Championships later this year. The school applauds Izaiah for his leadership and dedication, inspiring young chess players across the region.
