Results for the day: 1st places – 3 The following learners received gold medals and they also qualified to participate at the Mpumalanga Championships on 12 March 2022:

• Ethan Kapito – High Jump

Exceptional achievement – Record:

• Ethan Kapito smashed the u/10 High Jump record by achieving a height of 1,29m!

Curro Secunda Athletics: High School

 We would like to congratulate the following learners on their achievements at the Gert Sibande Championships this past weekend:

Tumaini Mahlangu:

Achieved a 1st Place in the Triple Jump smashing his personal best by 60cm and jumping 20cm further than the qualifying distance for ASA, with 13.80m (U/17). Tumaini also placed 2nd in the Long Jump with 6.52m, qualifying for the next round (U/17).

Hlonolofatso Lephoi:

 Placed 4th in the Long Jump with a distance 6.11m, also qualifying for the next round (U/17).

• Tumisho Mashabane placed 5th in the 1500m (U/17).
• Darios Mekoa placed 3rd in shotput (U/17).

Tumaini and Hlonolofatso both qualified for the Mpumalanga Championships that will be taking place this coming Saturday (5 March). Congratulations to all these athletes and thank you for flying the Curro flag!

Curro Cup Athletics 2022: Primary School

•  We are very proud of our primary school athletics team for achieving an overall 3rd place at the Curro Cup (athletics). There was a total of 27 teams that participated.
• This is an exceptional achievement. Well done everybody! (See group photos attached).

•  A very special congratulations goes out to Obonolo Aphane. She has been awarded the Junior Victrix Ludorum trophy for 2022! (See photo attached).
