We celebrated our 28th Founders’ Day with a meaningful Assembly, today, Friday, 11 October. The event featured a flag-bearing procession with Kirsty Jackson (Curro flag); Jamie-Lee Rogers (National flag); Troy Christophers (Creston College flag); Umar Razak (Knowledge); Joel Snyman (Vision); Sazi Swana (Harmony); Demitria Pillay (Eagle House); Clarissa Niemandt (Falcon House); Luyanda Ngidi (Eco) representing various aspects of our school.
The Assembly featured performances by Kate Chivers, Siyamdumisa Mbatha, Michael Potgieter and Shelley Downham. Notable moments included readings by Head Boy Michael Potgieter and reflections by Head Girl Kirsty Jackson.
Our guest speaker, Mrs. Chantel Elliott, delivered an inspiring address, emphasizing the importance of knowledge and education as the foundation for personal growth. She also highlighted that consistency is crucial for success, encouraging learners to always offer help to peers who may be struggling. She reminded everyone to remain mindful of those less fortunate, stressing that one cannot receive anything in life with a closed hand.
The event concluded with a heartfelt prayer led by Demitria Pillay, followed by the singing of our School Song. The celebration continued with the school’s beloved tradition of enjoying delicious doughnuts, bringing a sweet and joyful close to a memorable day that united our school community in reflection and gratitude.
