Christ Church Preparatory School and College College Arts and Culture Evening. On Wednesday, 30 March 2022, the College hosted an Arts and Culture Evening to showcase some of the talent within our school, organised by the Arts and Culture portfolio. The evening consisted of art displays, drama, impromptu speeches, as well as various musical items.
The adjudicator for the evening was Yule Oswald. Yule is an AFDA Honours Graduate, MNET Student of the year for live performance and has worked in the industry as a TV commercials director, all round director, writer, performer, and MC. She has also recently released her second single entitled ‘In the Fire’.
The evening started off with our Grade 12 Marimba group playing ‘Fetch Your Life’ and ‘Rolling in the Deep’. The Grade 7’s, 8’s, 10s and 11’s also dazzled the audience with their fantastic musical creations on the Marimbas. The evening concluded with the College Choir, directed by Mr Jaco van der Merwe, singing the original poem ‘Nkosi Sikelela iAfrica’. Awards were handed out by Yule Oswald for the items that were adjudicated throughout the evening.
