Camps Bay learner finishes 3rd in Mens C Section at WP Squash Tournament. Grade 10 learner, Brody Williamson, finishing 3rd in the Men’s C Section of the Western Province Closed Squash Tournament this past weekend. Brody was the youngest entrant in the tournament, and had to play all 5 of his knock-out matches against men in their twenties and thirties, winning 4 of them. He was very unlucky to lose his semi-final match against the eventual winner of the tournament.

Brody showed tremendous fighting spirit by coming back from 10-14 down in the 4th game, saving 4 match points in the process, to even the match up to 2-2 in games. He then narrowly lost the 5th game tie-breaker 15-13. The tournament served as a very good preparation for Brody ahead of the final round of Western Province trials taking place in two weeks’ time. Brody is striving to achieve his Western Province colours for squash for the sixth consecutive year, and if successful, will tour with the WP Boys u16 team to Pretoria in June for the Inter-Provincial Tournament. Well done, Brody and good luck at Western Province trials.
