On Wednesday, 23 March, Author Ike Obidike visited the Grade 10 pupils to discuss the writing process.

Ike Obidike is an academic consultant armed with a PhD in Chemical Engineer from the University of the Witwatersrand.  He is an accomplished soccer analyst/coach/writer, a nationally-rated scrabble player and a decent chess player. He is the co-ordinator of the Johannesburg Scrabble Club, and the President of Come Home Bible Study, Braamfontein. He has lived in Nigeria, Swaziland, Dublin and London.  Presently, he lives in Johannesburg with his son. Shifting Sands is his debut novel but he is busy writing the sequel, Sands of Time.

Shifting Sands was published in 2017 and has sold over 5 000 copies. It has also remained a recommended book of the Gauteng Department of Education since 2020 whereby they purchase it annually and distribute it to high school libraries in Gauteng.
