In their Geography class, our Grade 10 Crawfordians embarked on an exhilarating exploration of the world of ‘Geomorphic Processes’. With a focus on volcanoes and earthquakes, these budding geologists delved deep into the dynamics of these powerful phenomena, undertaking extensive research and creating models that illustrate the mechanics behind these events. Their coursework demands a sharp eye for detail, as they research a specific volcanic or earthquake event of their choosing and evaluate the risks and impacts, to humans and the environment. 

With a passion for the subject, Crawfordians Kagiso Mothoagae, Buhle Magwaza, Jessica Peffer and Farid Williams astounded us with their project presentations. Jessica showedcased a demonstration on her hand built wooden model, of the tear fault that occurred when the Arabian plate boundary slid past the Anatolian plate boundary and caused the 7.8 Turkey / Syria earthquake. Kagiso wowed us with a stunning volcano eruption display using vinegar, bicarb and food colouring. Each student showcased their remarkable research skills and creative talents in visualizing the intricate workings of Geomorphic Processes. All of their projects offered brilliant interpretations of how volcanic or earthquake events occur, while evaluating and explaining the risks and impacts they pose to humans and the environment. Well done to our #futurechangemakers and young Geologists! We are so proud of your hard work and effort! Keep it up!
