On Saturday 10 May, Wembley College participated in a hockey tournament hosted at Curro Salt Rock, where the first team girls showcased exceptional skill and sportsmanship throughout the day. Starting the day off with a 1-1 draw against a strong Waterfall team, Wembley started to find some momentum as they then went on to beat Curro Salt Rock thanks to two fantastic goals by Ilse Duvenhage. The final pool game was against Gelofte where both sides showed great defence and determination with the score finishing at 0-0.  Wembley College qualified for the final where they faced Waterfall. After end-to-end action throughout the game, the teams could not be separated and the final had to go to a shootout. Thanks to Claire Pieterse saving two of the shots, Wembley College were crowned winners of the tournament. The girls delivered outstanding performances across all their matches. Their teamwork, determination, and discipline were evident throughout, earning them well-deserved praise from coaches and spectators alike. Wembley College congratulates all the players and coaches involved for their hard work and dedication, which led to this impressive victory.
