On Friday evening, 21 October, Union High School, Graaff-Reinet hosted its annual Senior Prizegiving Ceremony in the school hall.

This special occasion provides a space for the school to reflect and celebrate the school year and all the learners who have put in the hard yards in academics, culture and sports – the learners who have persevered against all odds, shown courage and built character while facing their personal challenges head on.

Kendall Krige:

  • Joy Arnott/Helen Watermeyer Trust Bursary to the head girl of the school, as a present pure and simple, for her to do with as she liked as a memory of Helen Watermeyer, from whose little school in 1896, this big school had grown.

Matthew Basson (Head Boy):

  • Way Memorial Bursary to the boy in Matric, who, by his character, conduct spiritedness and qualities of leadership, has contributed most to the life of the School.
