Caitlin Evans (Grade 9) from Rustenburg Girls’ High School competed in the SA Senior National Championships in Gqeberha, one of the country’s top open-age swimming events. Her performance was nothing short of outstanding, as she claimed the Gold medal in the 400m Individual Medley, securing her position as the national title holder in this event. In addition, Caitlin showed her versatility by reaching the B Finals in two other races, finishing 1st in the 200m Individual Medley and 7th in the 400m Freestyle, further proving her exceptional skill and consistency. Later in the month, Caitlin showcased her remarkable talent once again at the SA Junior National Championships in Cape Town, held from 25–29 April. Competing within her age group, Caitlin dominated the pool, bringing home an impressive 8 Gold, 1 Silver, and 2 Bronze medals.
