One day every term is dedicated to “Make a Difference Day”, where the entire Kingswood Senior School heads out into the community to make a difference. Some of the activities that took place were the Concert Band invited local preschools to watch and participate in a concert. There was also a river clean-up, litter pick-up, gardening at the APD clinic ( clinic for  the disabled) , hospital and Commemoration church, painting at the commmunity library, painting angel wings at school, SPCA visit, Bongo at  Brookshaw old age  home , visiting Home of Joy orphanage, removing invasive trees on Mountain drive, packing food at Food For Futures, making beanies, and the Grade 10’s met their mentees ( Grade 3’s) at George Dickerson who they will be  reading with for the rest of the year as part of the Nali Bali literacy project.

The Make a Difference Day started when one Mandela Day we realized the impact we could make when the entire school goes out together,  and while many of these community partners  are visited regularly during enrichment period,  the impact that is made with the vast numbers of pupils going out at once were noticeable, so this has become a termly activity for the entire senior school.
