The Hoërskool Generaal Hertzog Choir has had an exceptional year in 2025, marked by musical growth, creativity, and outstanding achievements. The choir has represented the school with pride and passion, demonstrating that teamwork and dedication truly lead to excellence.
Highlights of the year include:
- A workshop with African music specialist, Mbuzo Ndlovu, during which the choir collaborated with him to arrange and perform their own original song.
- Gold Award at the National ATKV Applous Choir Competition, recognising their outstanding sound quality and unity.
- Winners of the High School Choir category at the Artium Eisteddfod, where their expressive and energetic performance impressed adjudicator and audience alike.
- Invited performance at the Deutsche Internationale Schule, Pretoria, together with the visiting Niedersachsen Sound Orchestra from Germany, as part of the annual German meets Mzansi event.
- Performance at a fundraising concert in Middelburg, supporting a worthy cause while sharing their music with a wider community.
- Participation in several local choir festivals, showcasing their versatility, enthusiasm, and growing artistry.
