Glenashley Preparatory School was delighted to celebrate World Book Day on 23 April with a fun-filled Jubilee Book Character Dress-Up Day, combining a love of reading with the joy of the school’s special Jubilee year.
Learners arrived dressed as their favourite book characters, bringing stories to life across the campus. Exciting activities were planned for all grades, creating a memorable day of imagination, reading and celebration. The Grade 4 learners enjoyed a magical story time session, including a special reading by a much-loved past teacher of the school. Afterwards, they gathered in the spacious Media Centre, opening into a beautiful garden courtyard, to enjoy a delightful Jubilee tea with bespoke cookies and juice. Comfortable floor cushions and a plush carpeted setting made story time extra cosy and inviting.
Learners in Grades 5 to 7 took part in a meaningful Jubilee activity by writing special memories of their school years, which will be included in the school’s commemorative Jubilee Photobook. Adding to the excitement, Golden Tickets were hidden around campus, each offering a special prize. Hidden clues also challenged learners to guess the correct book title for another chance to win.
Prizes were awarded for the best dressed book characters, adding extra fun and creativity to the day.The school thanked its learners for celebrating both the Jubilee and World Book Day with such enthusiasm. A sincere thank you also went to families for their continued support, and to Mrs Richardson, Media Educator, for her wonderful efforts in helping bring the special celebration to life. At Glenashley Prep, books continued to inspire adventure, imagination and a lifelong love of learning.
