Durban Girls’ High School swimming success

Durban Girls’ High School swimming success: Kate Truter competed in the SA Open Water Champs in Jeffreys Bay. She represented KZN and swam the 3km event, beating her Personal Best by almost 4 minutes! She placed in the Top 10 in her age group. Kate was awarded Colours for her achievement.

Tayla Bruce participated in the annual MidMar Mile and finished in 8th position, which means she is seeded in the top 20 in the country in the womens’ division. Tayla also competed in the SA Open Water Champs in Jeffreys Bay. She represented KZN and swam the 1.5km event and 10km event. She was placed in the top10 for both events. For her achievements, Tayla was awarded Colours.

Jenna-Mae Lally participated at the SA Regional Level 3 Championships held in Bloemfontein. Jenna Mae achieved gold in 200m Backstroke, silver in 400m Freestyle and 200m Freestyle and bronze in 200m and 100m Backstroke. At the SA Open Water Champs in Jeffreys Bay, Jenna-Mae secured 13th position in her age category for the 5km swim and came 12th in the 3km swim. For her achievements she was awarded Colours.

Roslyn Ramaholi participated at the KZN Aquatics Regional Level 2 Champs held at Kings Park. She swam the 50m and 100m Butterfly and won gold for both. She also participated in the 50m Freestyle and won a bronze.

 

Roslyn Ramoholi, Payton Groger and Lethokuhle Makhubu were awarded Merit Certificates for representing the Umlazi District Schools Swimming team.
