Curro Serengeti kickstarts 2023 under newly appointed Executive Head. JSE-listed independent school group Curro Holdings, is delighted to announce the appointment of Mr Thinus Enslin as the Executive Head of Curro Serengeti in Kempton Park, Johannesburg.

A graduate of Potchefstroom University, Mr Enslin qualified with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (cum laude) and has a solid 18 years of teaching experience under his belt, six years as a principal and four years as an executive head.

His most recent leadership role was as the Primary School Principal of Leeuwenhof Akademie in East Rand and prior to that, he enjoyed a progressive career with Curro. Having joined the private school group in 2011 as the Operational Head of Curro Heuwelkruin in Polokwane he quickly scaled the leadership ladder to become the Executive Head of Curro Secunda in Mpumalanga, a school which he led with great success from 2015 – 2018.

Outside of teaching, Mr Enslin is an accomplished sportsman, having played and coached professional cricket for the North West Cricket Union and at several prominent clubs in England and Scotland. However, his interest and support at school level spans all facets with special emphasis on academic performance and excellent curriculum delivery.

Thinus Enslin

“I am very excited to be joining Curro Serengeti and am determined to execute my vision of establishing a learning environment in which teachers and learners develop optimally in the freedom of a Christian value system, founded on quality teaching, self-discipline and mutual respect and to the benefit and welfare of our beautiful country,” says Enslin.

Commenting on Mr Enslin’s appointment, Shaun McMurtry, Business Executive at Curro Holdings says “Thinus has a proven track record of independent school leadership both within Curro and other independent schools and we strongly believe this has prepared him well to apply his inclusive approach to the Curro Serengeti community and make the school a shining example of educational excellence. We wish him every success in his new role.”
