Durbanville, Cape Town – Reddam House Durbanville continues its tradition of academic excellence with outstanding results in the 2024 Cambridge International Awards, securing 14 ‘Top in South Africa’ accolades across IGCSE and A Level subjects. These achievements underscore the school’s commitment to delivering world-class education across a broad academic offering.

Among the highlights is Youkyum Kim, who was awarded the coveted Best Across Eight IGCSE Subjects – First Place in South Africa, in addition to achieving Top in South Africa in IGCSE Chemistry, Computer Science, Physics, and English First Language. His extraordinary results affirm Reddam House Durbanville’s position as a centre of academic excellence within the Cambridge curriculum in South Africa. These accolades span a diverse range of subjects, reflecting the strength of teaching and learning across the school. The school is also proud to celebrate the success of Minkyum Kim, who received Top in South Africa for A Level Physics and a High Achievement Award in A Level Further Mathematics – an impressive accomplishment that reflects exceptional academic depth in advanced mathematics and science. Minkyum began his studies at the University of Cambridge (UK) in September 2024, reading for a degree in Computer Science – marking a proud milestone for the school community. “Minkyum is the older brother of top-achieving IGCSE student Youkyum, and together these remarkable young men have brought immense pride to both their family and the school,” continues Nieuwoudt.

The school offers both the Cambridge Assessment International Education curriculum and the Independent Examinations Board (IEB) programme. This dual offering provides students with the flexibility to tailor their academic paths, whether pursuing local university entrance or international study opportunities.
