On Tuesday, 9 June, The Wykeham Collegiate proudly hosted a vibrant Mini-Hockey Festival under lights, welcoming enthusiastic Grade 1 and 2 girls from schools across the Midlands. Each team enjoyed the opportunity to play three exciting matches, showcasing their developing skills, teamwork, and love for the game.
The festival created a wonderful sense of community as parents, families, and supporters gathered on the sidelines to cheer on the young players. Playing on the Hockey Astro under the bright floodlights added a special touch to the evening, making the experience both memorable and exciting for everyone involved. Laughter, encouragement, and sportsmanship were on full display as the girls embraced every moment of the occasion.
Events such as these provide valuable opportunities for young players to gain confidence, build friendships, and develop a passion for hockey in a fun and supportive environment. The Wykeham Collegiate was delighted to host such a successful event and looks forward to many more evenings celebrating junior sport and participation.
