Sunningdale Primary School learner excel at the School Districts Chess Championship

Zara Budhram a grade 3 learner of Sunningdale Primary School participated in the School Districts Chess Championship held on 7–8 February 2026 at Parow North Primary School and achieved an outstanding result. She secured 1st place with a flawless score of 6 wins from 6 games. After a grueling 2 days of chess games, she emerged the winner in the Under 9 girls’ sections. This event brought together top players from leading schools in the North Schools District, including Reddam, Curro, Elkanah, and others. Zara’s victory has earned her a place among the top 5 players selected to represent the district at the next Chess Championship.
