In 𝐗𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐚 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐀𝐋 class, Stulting Primary had such fun consolidating hands-on learning visually through a game, while focusing on the concept of colours.

Red – ibomvu

Orange – iorenji

Yellow – imthubi

Blue – imfusa

Green – luhlaza

Pink – ipinki

Purple – ipepuli

Grey – igreyi

Black – imnyama

Brown – imdaka

White – imhlophe

All the learners received a balloon, then they had to say the colour in English, Afrikaans and Xhosa. It was an interactive and engaging way to reinforce their language skills and help them make connections between the different languages.

Teacher Sethu’s innovative and dynamic teaching methods make learning Xhosa an exciting adventure. Her energetic and enthusiastic approach captivates the learners, making each lesson an enjoyable experience.

Dual/multi-language learning at an early age has numerous benefits. It fosters greater intercultural appreciation and sensitivity. Research also shows that children who study more than one language exhibit better problem-solving skills, enhanced memory, planning, multitasking abilities and heightened creativity.
