Kimberley – The highly anticipated Staats Sports Festival 2025 once again proved to be a resounding success, bringing together young athletes, schools, and supporters from across the Northern Cape for three action-packed days of rugby and netball. Hosted at Staats Primary School from 6-8 March, the festival showcased exceptional sportsmanship, skill, and teamwork from u.7 to u.13 teams.

With 18 schools participating, the festival provided a platform for young players to test their abilities in a competitive yet supportive environment. From the thrilling Renostertjie rugby and netball matches on Thursday to the fiercely contested fixtures over the weekend, every game was played with passion and determination.Spectators were treated to outstanding performances, nail-biting finishes, and moments of true sportsmanship as teams battled it out for victory. The festival was not only about competition but also about fostering friendships and camaraderie among players, coaches, and families.

A special thanks goes to New Vaal Motors, the proud sponsor of the event, whose support helped make this festival possible. The dedicated coaches, referees, and volunteers also played a crucial role in ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for all.

Staats Primary School extends its gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of this year’s festival. The event continues to grow in prestige, cementing its place as one of the premier primary school sports festivals in the region. As the final whistle blew on another unforgettable edition of the Staats Sports Festival, one thing was clear – the future of youth sports in the Northern Cape is brighter than ever. We look forward to welcoming teams back for an even bigger and better event in 2026!
