Reddam House Durbanville Class of 2024 achieve over 90 distinctions in Cambridge International AS and A Level exams

Durbanville, Cape Town – In a strong affirmation of the global Cambridge International standards, Reddam House Durbanville’s Class of 2024 has excelled in their AS and A Level examinations, achieving 88 subject distinctions at AS Level and a 76% aggregate average at A Level. These accomplishments underscore the students’ commitment to academic rigour and position them for success at top local and international universities. Cambridge International results were released globally on 9 January, three days ahead of the release of IEB matric results on 13 January.
Remarkable AS Level achievements
A total of 52 students wrote the Cambridge International AS Level examinations, collectively earning 88 subject distinctions, with 13 students attaining an A aggregate. Notably, the group achieved a 71% overall average and a 100% pass rate.
The following students stand out for their exceptional AS Level achievements:
- Danel Rossouw (90%) – Achieved 94% for accelerated Afrikaans in November 2023, 92% for Chemistry, and 91% for Mathematics.
- Ethan Webber (88%) – Excelled with 92% for Mathematics and 92% for English Language.
- Soyeon Lee (87.8%) – Scored 93% in Physics, and 92% in both Mathematics and Chemistry.
- Richard Henn (86.8%) – Attained a superb 95% for Mathematics, the highest mark in this subject for the Class of 2024.
- Matthew Fortgens (86.75%) – Planning an accelerated route to complete A Levels in May/June 2025.

Exceptional A Level performances
- Reddam House Durbanville’s A Level students also excelled, recording a 76% aggregate average. Chief among the top achievers is Tracey Visser, who earned three A*s with phenomenal marks of 93% in Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry. Tracey’s exceptional track record stretches back to her AS Level and IGCSE results, and she now aims to study Chemical Engineering at the University of Cape Town.
- Another student, Kyan Blom earned an 82% aggregate average. Kyan joined Reddam House Durbanville in Grade 11 from a South African curriculum and achieved 87% for A Level Mathematics. He aspires to pursue Medicine, either locally or abroad.
