Marimba:  Merrifield Marimba Magic The Merrifield College marimba band took part in the 3rd Education Africa’s International Marimba and Steelpan Virtual Festival. This year’s festival saw 1650 participants from 77 different institutions from 9 countries around the globe.

The Merrifield College band fared well obtaining 1st place in the High School In the Mix category. Merrifield also received “The Spirit of the Festival” award in the special awards category. “I am truly proud of each and every member of the band as this is proof that hard work pays off. Receiving the “Spirit of the festival” award truly epitomises how magical marimbas are at Merrifield. We cannot wait to return to the live festival in 2023 which will be taking place in Johannesburg.” – Dwight Morrings
