Edenglen High School teacher placed 2nd at the ASA Cross Country Championships in Rustenburg.

Edenglen High School Mathematics teacher Kate van Jaarseld qualified to run at the South African Cross country Championships which was held at Bergsig Akademie in Rustenburg. This Murray and Roberts athlete placed 1st in Gauteng and therefore qualified to take part in the 4km ASA Championships.

It was a nail biting finish as Kate started picking up the pace in the last km of the race. She was determined to run her best race ever and started to close the gap on the lady who was in second place.

The race ended in a sprint with the crowd cheering and Kate crossing the finish line in 2nd position.
