Curro Aurora to benefit from veteran new executive head. Curro Holdings, the JSE-listed independent school group, is delighted to announce the appointment of Joanne Quick as the new Executive Head of Curro Aurora in Randburg, Gauteng. Joanne is currently the Executive Head at Northriding College, another school managed by Curro Holdings, and will now oversee the running of both schools. During her tenure at Northriding College, Joanne seamlessly supervised the school’s transition of ownership to Curro Holdings and has gone on to implement various innovative systems to bring the college in line with Curro’s 21st century educational philosophy. This included the launch of the progressive technology-rich DigiEd school model in the high school in 2021.

No stranger to hard work and learning, Joanne graduated first from the University of Stellenbosch and later the University of the Witwatersrand Business School, where she received her Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management, cum laude and was awarded the Dean’s list. With a wealth of business management experience under her belt, Joanne is now looking ahead; confident, excited, and undeterred by the challenges that lie ahead. She is determined to make both schools the most reputable in the area and has especially big aspirations for Curro Aurora. Her main aim though is to furnish every learner with the most memorable and fulfilling school journey that equips them with the life skills needed to survive and thrive in an ever-changing world of work.

“My time at Northriding College has been focused on the growth and development of a very young campus while also making sure that the learners are supported to reach their full potential. I am thrilled to be able to add Curro Aurora to my management portfolio, as it means I can now ensure that the Curro academic offering continues to grow and develop within the Randburg area,” she says.

Speaking of her appointment, Bernardt van der Linde, Chief Operating Officer at Curro Holdings comments “Joanne is one of our most respected and valued executive heads. She has proven herself to be a capable strategic and operational leader with the ability to motivate staff and add value to the daily lives of our learners and we know her tireless work ethic, passion and dedication will be greatly welcomed at Curro Aurora just as it has been at Northriding College. We wish her every success in her new role”.
