On 16 August 2025, Crawford International Sandton College (CISC) proudly hosted the District Schools Chess Championships, welcoming nearly 300 students from across the region. In a day filled with sharp strategy and focused gameplay, our CISC teams delivered an exceptional performance—earning gold and silver medals in the U15 and U17 categories and proudly being crowned District 9 Chess Champions!

Both teams will now go on to represent District 9 at the Gauteng Province Schools Chess Championships on 30 August in Benoni. From there, all eyes turn to the National South African Schools Championships. A big congratulations to all our players on their fantastic achievement—and a sincere thank you to the parents and supporters who continue to stand by them every step of the way.
