The College 1st XI were good in the field on Friday night, and on Saturday afternoon after tea versus Kingswood College. Mitchell Coventry 38 (27) and Samuel Scheckter 27 (26) top scored in the T20, thereafter Roman Van Zyl (4/26) with superb support from Oliver Johns (2/7 in 4 overs) defended College’s par score of 138/7. On Saturday College posted 251/6, declaring soon after lunch with 53 overs bowled. William Beamish (84), Murray Wilson (64) and Alex Price 54 were the top scorers for College. The late afternoon session brought the College spinners into play, led by off spinner Tom Bussiahn (4/19) and leg spinner Laurie Apps (5/20). The batsmen found it tough in the spinning conditions, and the toss won by College proving to be crucial in their win.
