Reddford House Class of 2024 achieves 88% Bachelor Degree pass rate and 223 subject distinctions.

Johannesburg, January 2025 – Reddford House, a proud member of the globally renowned Inspired Education Group, celebrates the exceptional achievements of its Class of 2024 matriculants. Across its three Johannesburg-based campuses – Reddford House Northcliff, Reddford House Blue Hills, and Reddford House The Hills – students achieved outstanding results in the Independent Examinations Board (IEB) National Senior Certificate (NSC) exams, with a 100% pass rate and an impressive 88% Bachelor’s Degree pass rate.

Within the IEB’s list of achievers in the Top 1% of subjects, five Reddford House students achieved this prestigious national ranking in a total of eight subjects. The top achievers were Arya Badal from Reddford House Blue Hills who achieved a 1% ranking in four subjects; and Luyanda Dube, Zarina Govindasamy and Khayalandile Nkomo from Reddford House Blue Hills as well as Keira Blake from Reddford House The Hills, who achieved a 1% ranking in one subject each.

Arya Badal and Zarina Govindasamy from Reddford House Blue Hills also achieved a national ranking within the top 5% in six or more subjects, placing them on the IEB Outstanding Achievement List – a significant national recognition of their excellence. As a non-selective school, Reddford House prides itself on ensuring students reach their full individual potential in a nurturing yet disciplined environment, consistently delivering exceptional academic standards and results.

Blue Hills leads the way

Reddford House Blue Hills delivered a stellar performance this year, producing 119 subject distinctions and remarkable individual achievements. Arya Badal, a founding student who has been with the school from Grade 6, from its inception, excelled with nine distinctions and an exceptional average of 95%. Arya’s accomplishments include a 98% score in Mathematics and over 90% in English Home Language, Life Orientation, Afrikaans First Additional Language, Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, Information Technology, Further Studies English, and Further Studies Mathematics.

Other top achievers from Blue Hills include:

• Zarina Govindasamy, with eight distinctions and an average of 91%, excelling in Mathematics, Life Orientation, Life Sciences, History, and Further Studies Mathematics.
• Khayalandile Nkomo, who achieved seven distinctions and an average of 87%, scoring over 98% in Mathematical Literacy and 91% in Business Studies.
• Luyanda Dube, with seven distinctions and an average of 87%, performing exceptionally in isiZulu First Additional Language, Computer Applications Technology, and Life Orientation.
• Mikala Ernstzen received six distinctions and an average of 86%, including 91% for Life Orientation and 95% for Engineering Graphics & Design.
• Mbewenhle Dlamini and Ntsako Maimele both earned five distinctions, showcasing strong performances across their subjects.

Northcliff and The Hills make their mark

Reddford House Northcliff and The Hills campuses also celebrated impressive results, contributing significantly to this year’s academic success. At Northcliff, Talia Osborne achieved seven distinctions with an average of 85%, including over 90% in Geography. Etienne Janse Van Rensburg earned five distinctions, including a standout 93% in Mathematics. Fellow Northcliff student Kayden Vandeyar also achieved five distinctions, demonstrating consistent academic excellence.

The Hills campus produced several noteworthy performances. Keira Blake earned five distinctions with an average of 86%, excelling in Afrikaans First Additional Language, Dramatic Arts, and English Home Language, for which she achieved a coveted spot in the IEB’s top 1%. Unathi Sishi achieved five distinctions with an average of 83%, including over 90% in Life Orientation. Another standout, Sudarshan Reddy, also achieved five distinctions, reflecting the strong academic performance of The Hills students.
