Epworth School paddlers shone at this year’s Dusi Canoe Marathon, delivering outstanding performances. Current pupils dominated the girls U18 race, with Olivia McKenzie and Tessa Salmon finishing first, followed by Keira Hunter and Libby Ross in second. Hana Newlands showed incredible grit and determination by conquering the race in a K1 after her partner, Tayla Norton, fell ill. Past Epworth pupils made up almost half of the women’s K2 top 10 and dominated the U23 event. Abbey Hackland, who matriculated at Epworth last year, won the mixed doubles event with her father, James Hackland.
