Pinnacle College Kyalami had an splendid Valentine’s celebration on 14 February. Students and Teachers participated in the festivities on campus wearing mostly a combination of red, pink and white in the Pre-prep, Prep and High School. The Grade 7s hosted a Valentine’s Market at our Foundation Phase and the littlest learners had a blast visiting the stalls and buying yummy snacks.
Teachers also took the opportunity to use the jovial day for themed lessons. Mrs Hall had a themed lesson for Valentine’s in her English class, Grade 8 and 9 learners watched a video of young children expressing their thoughts on the question, ” What is love?” They then tried their hand at expressing their own thoughts on love in poetry and prose. The Panda Class in Grade 00 spent the day collaging beautiful heart hats and decorating cards to their loved ones. They collaborated on a stunning big picture of their “Heart Garden”.
“It was a cheerful day and it was wonderful to see both staff and pupils participating in the celebrations. As the author George Sand said, ‘There’s only one happiness in life, to love and to be loved’,” Head of School Pre-prep and Prep, Sicelo Bhengu.
