Singapore Math’s in the St Charles College Senior Primary School

On Tuesday, our Grade 4 boys had a fun lesson with the Head of our Senior Primary, Mr. Brett Sliedrecht, exploring the Singapore Math’s model method – bar modelling – which provides the boys with a powerful tool for solving word problems.

The boys learnt about CPA which stands for the Concrete, Pictorial, Abstract approach as an effective way to develop an understanding of Math’s. It was an interactive lesson with the boys working in groups, using their whiteboards and blocks to solve word problems.
