Rundle College visits well known cooking academy
On Thursday the 1st of August, the François Ferreira Academy invited twelve Rundle College students to attend a special viewing of the school as well as a cooking demonstration by the master himself, Chef François. The students, as well as tutor Ms Delia Gevers, watched in anticipation as Chef François whipped up fritters, two types of mayonnaise and a delicious cream of mushroom soup in his MasterChef-style demonstration kitchen.
- The experience really gave the students a look into life as a student at the academy because not only was Chef François doing a demonstration in front of us, but behind us the students at the academy were doing a practical.
- Of course, the best part came at the end of the outing when the students were allowed a taste of Chef François’ dishes.
Studying at the academy is a great opportunity especially for students taking a gap year or wanting to travel and make money as the qualifications gained are internationally recognized. It is safe to say that all the students had a wonderful time and hopefully learned a thing or two about the culinary arts and hospitality industry at the same time! If you are interested in learning more, there will be an open day on the 30th and 31st of August at the François Ferreira Academy.
