Congratulations on being selected as a leader at your school. What are you looking forward to most during your term as leader? I am looking forward to working in this position not for my own personal gain, but to use this position to serve others and the school as well as continue to lift the Rhenish name up high. I and my team are also looking forward to rebuilding the infamous Rhenish spirit and pride as well as helping others realise and fulfil their full potential.
What are your strengths and weaknesses?
My strengths are being able to work and socialise well with others, I’d like to consider myself a team player. I am also someone who is consistent, hardworking, genuine, self-less and reliable.
My greatest weakness is probably trying to please everyone, which fortunately over time I’ve realised that it is not possible to do but I believe I have become better with coming to terms that it is okay not to please everyone.
Is there anything you would like to change at your school? There isn’t really anything I would like to change but rather continue to build on what was implemented in previous years. So something I would like to continue to build on is the Rhenish spirit and sisterhood. Due to Covid, we haven’t really been given many opportunities to bond and form connections in grades, between grade and other schools or have sport matches, socials and events where we could display spirit.
What do you love most about your school? Honestly, what isn’t there to love about Rhenish? The one thing I love the most about Rhenish is the support system. There are so many people in Rhenish who are there to support you and help you with whatever you need. The Rhenish community truly values support.
Matric is your final year, from an academic point of view, what are you aiming for? Academically, I would like to increase my average and hopefully at the end of my high school career through consistency and hard work. I will have full distinctions.
What will you message of encouragement be for your prefects/co-leaders? You are not alone. I want my co-leaders to remember that we are in this together and whatever they need they shouldn’t feel ashamed to ask for help and guidance. There is strength in unity and we are better together – sibanye.
Who is your role model? My parents. They taught me many valuable lessons that have helped me become the leader and person I am today. They have taught me to be respectful, humble, hardworking and value education. These valuable lessons and morals they’ve taught me have helped guide me into the right direction and have prepared me for so many challenges in life and for that I’m truly grateful.
What are your plans after matric in 2023? After matric I would love to go into aviation and become a commercial pilot. I’ve always had a passion for planes and traveling. This career path allows people to socialise, travel the world as well as challenge you – which are all things I’m crazy about.
If you could be any superhero, who do you want to be and why? Iron man. He is the definition of selfless. He truly inspires me to be compassionate, kind and genuine. He also has really cool gadgets and is rich which I would also like to have and be one day.
On a regular Saturday, you will find me… with… On a Saturday you will find me outdoors with my friends and family having a fun time. I truly enjoy socialising as well as being in nature. So most of the time I’m either outside, socialising or playing sports.
