Congratulations to Volksrust High School Gert Sibande Athletes! On Saturday, 15th March 2025, five of our incredible athletes represented the Gert Sibande team at the Mpumalanga Championship held at Rob Ferreira. We are so proud of each one of them for their hard work and dedication! A huge congratulations to the following athletes for their outstanding achievements:

• Saphira van Aswegen – Bronze medal in the Girls 17 3000m!
• Angela Brefo – Gold medal in the Girls 15 200m! Not only did she win gold, but she also qualified to represent the Mpumalanga team at the SA Championships!
• Asanda Ngwenya – Gold medal in the Boys 15 1500m! He too has qualified to participate in the SA Championships!
• Both Angela and Asanda will be representing Mpumalanga at the SA Championships in Bloemfontein during the school holidays from 2nd to 5th April 2025.

A massive well done to all the athletes for their dedication, perseverance, and hard work. We wish you the best of luck at the SA Championships!
