Creston College 1st team hockey boys take tournament victory

Creston College 1st team hockey boys took part in the Margate Sport’s School Sport Festival over the holidays. The team won 6 out of the 7 games played, and in the final, despite being a man down the entire day, took their win against Ladysmith High School. Meriqé Pillay scored the winning goal in the final 8 seconds of the tie breaker, and Jyhdesh Naidoo scored the other goal with a penalty flick.
An excellent game and well-deserved win on home turf. Thank you to Ladysmith High School for such an intensive game. Congratulations to Jyhdesh Naidoo, Meriqé Pillay, Prosper Mlondo, Aviwe Dzingwa, Troy Strydom and Michael Potgieter who received invitations to go on a tour to the Netherlands, based on exceptional performance.
