Richards Bay, KZN – Grantleigh School is proud to announce that Grade 11 learner Emma Nel has been selected for the U18 Girls Sharks Rugby Team, making her the first female rugby player in the school’s history to achieve this honour. She will compete at the Craven Week tournament, one of South Africa’s most prestigious school rugby events, taking place this July.
Emma’s achievement reflects more than individual excellence — it’s a reflection of the school’s commitment to developing the whole child through a wide and inclusive range of extramural opportunities. With girls’ rugby now firmly part of the school’s growing list of activities, Emma’s selection represents a new chapter in the school’s evolving culture of excellence, inclusion and innovation. Her journey is set to inspire many more Grantleigh students to break new ground — on and off the field.
