Ferrum High School recycles
Ferrum High School is very privileged to have been given a can-crusher, which will be used to recycle cool drink cans! Thank you very much to Mario and Siska Janse van Vuuren for this generous, thoughtful donation.
The can-crusher is used to crush aluminium cool drink cans. After these cans are crushed, they will be traded as scrap metal, for which the school will receive funds in return. These much-needed funds will be used for various projects at the school. The school has many current and future projects, which include the dream of building an Arts and Culture Centre.
Newcastle residents, Mario and Siska say that the idea behind the donation of the can-crusher is to aid schools and others to recycle cans in order to generate funds, while keeping the environment clean. Mario is currently employed at Mechon Services, which provides engineering services, while Siska is employed at Pest Control Specialists, which provides services in pest control. Together they have managed to realise this initiative, and want to help others. Ferrum is very grateful for this donation and is looking forward to recycling all of our cool drink cans at the tuckshop!
