Our first rugby, hockey and netball teams went on tour during the April holiday. Rugby, Netball and Girls’ Hockey went to Margate Sport’s School where they were treated to various coaching workshops by professional coaches in the relevant sports.
Our netball girls were all invited to take part in the Malta Games later this year. This is a very noteworthy accomplishment as DHS and Die Anker were the only two schools where the whole team was invited to take part.
Our hockey girls also had a fun filled tour where they were able to play indoor hockey, learn many interesting drills to enhance their game and they took part in various teambuilding activities ensuring a strong bond where every player looks out for the team. Although hockey was their main objective, they were also able to enjoy game drives and spent some time on the beach in their free time.
The rugby boys were also in Margate and brought in a few interesting results with their focus mainly on the enhancement of their game and development of skills. They won most of their games but the biggest reward was the unit they formed through team building activities.
The hockey boys were in Bloemfontein and also performed very well. They were able to finish third overall. Upington won the tournament, followed by Oosterland and then Dundee finished third out of 9 teams. They had a lot of fun and were able to also work on their team building before the 2023 season. With many home games coming up in a very busy second term, we are extremely excited to see what our teams will produce.
