On Monday, 23 June, The Wykeham Collegiate Junior School participated in the Speech and Drama Festival, organised by the Speech and Drama Association of South Africa (SADASA). Forty-two Grade 6 and 7 pupils proudly represented TWC, showcasing their talents in a range of performances, including poetry recitals, monologues, and dramatic movement pieces. Our adjudicator for the day, Mrs. Carmen O’Donoghue, was thoroughly entertained by the creativity and passion displayed by each performer. The festival was a resounding success! Out of 39 performances, our girls achieved 15 A symbols and an impressive 19 A+ symbols. To top it all off, seven pieces were selected for SADASA’s inaugural Primary Schools Showcase in October, a celebration of the best young performers across the KwaZulu-Natal region. Congratulations to all our talented participants for their dedication, creativity, and courage on stage.
