On the AWSUM couch with Danville Park Girls’ High School’s Head Girl: Charlotte Zammit

Congratulations on being selected as a leader at your school. What are you looking forward to the most during your term as leader? I am looking forward to working with my prefect body, by providing services to the school and keeping Danville’s reputation at such a high standard.

What are your strengths and weaknesses?

  • My strengths include: I have good communication and listening skills. I am loyal and trustworthy. I am honest and value integrity. I am kind and caring. I am responsible.
  • My weaknesses include: I am still growing as a leader and so far, have not picked out any weaknesses.

Is there anything you would like to change at your school? There isn’t anything I would change about Danville. Danville is already a remarkable school!

What do you love the most about your school? Danville is a brilliant school. I love that Danville is accepting of everyone. Danville is a school that gives you the opportunity to shine and achieve your fullest potential! Danville offers a wide range of extra murals, from sports to culture and to extra academic classes. Even though it has been a hard two years with Covid-19, the teachers have been very supportive and have guided all of their students through these tough times.

Matric is your final year, from an academic point of view, what are you aiming for? I am aiming for good results at the end of my matric year. I want to end off the year strong and leave a meaningful mark behind.

What will you message of encouragement be for your prefects/co-leaders? I encourage my prefects to always work together and support each other. A constant reminder I will always drill into them is for them to always remain kind, to themselves and to others. We should stay as one body, moving as one, thinking as one and leading as one!

Who is your role model? My mother is my role model. She does everything for me, with no questions asked, she is always there for me! My mother is my inspiration, my role model and my life. I would not have gotten where I am today if it wasn’t for her!

What are your plans after matric in 2023? I would like to go to university, if I am accepted. I wish to study in the nursing field.

If you could be any superhero, who do you want to be and why? I cannot imagine myself being one superhero in particular, but I can imagine having superpowers must be a dream.

On a regular Saturday, you will find me at the beach with my mom.

Who is your Hollywood celeb crush?  If I am completely honest, I do not have a Hollywood celebrity crush.

Pick one:

  • Netball, rugby, cricket, or hockey? Netball
  • Cappuccino, hot chocolate, or tea? Cappuccino
  • Braai with friends or takeaways? Braai with friends
  • Binge watching series or a live music festival? Live music festival
  • Android or iOS? Android
