On Tuesday, 15 August 2023, our grades R-2 learners and teachers, along with Principal Mrs Collings, embarked on a remarkable journey of faith and friendship as they visited St. Clare’s Convent. The warm welcome they received from the Franciscan Missionary Sisters set the tone for a truly unforgettable experience that left a lasting impression on everyone involved. As the learners stepped foot into St. Clare’s Convent, they were greeted with the angelic voices of the Sisters singing a beautiful Marian song. It was a moment that instantly connected the hearts and minds of the young learners with the Sisters, forming a bond that transcended age and background.
The visit offered an opportunity for an engaging Q&A session, where the learners had the chance to delve deeper into the intricacies of religious life. Curiosity filled the room as questions were asked and knowledge was shared. The children listened with rapt attention, absorbing every detail about the Sisters’ vocation, their dedication to serving others, and the unique way in which they live out their faith.
The learners had prepared special treats for the Sisters as a token of their gratitude and admiration. The joy on the Sisters’ faces as they received these heartfelt gestures served as a testament to the power of gestures of kindness and the impact they can have on fostering relationships.
Principal Mrs. Collings expressed her heartfelt appreciation to the Franciscan Missionary Sisters for their warm welcome and the love they poured onto the learners and staff of Holy Family College. The visit was not just an opportunity to learn about religious life; it was a reminder of the importance of fostering connections and building bridges between different communities.
