Juandre Nel (Grade 8) joined carting in 2019 and in his first year he won the Rookie of the Year Award at
the KZN awards ceremony. In 2020 he finished sixth in South Africa in the Junior Max U15 Championships. Senior Max was the logical next step from Junior Max and in February 2021 Juandre joined the Senior max category. The senior max class is an open class and drivers can compete from the year they turn 14 until they are too old to Kart. Weight or being 32 years old will move you on to the next class, Max 175. At the recent National championships in Cape Town in March 2021, Juandre competed against a field with five racers who already left high school and
the rest of the competitors were older than sixteen. Only 13-years old, he did very well in this highly competitive field. Juandre finished eighth in the National championship.
