Greyton Village School focus on the present moment
We live in an extremely fast paced world and we often feel that there is not the time to just stand still, breath and enjoy the moment. It is not just adults that can stand to benefit from cultivating a focused awareness on the present moment. At increasingly younger ages, children are being forced to deal with higher levels of stress.
Our Greyton House teachers have been doing mindfulness exercises in their classroom for the past two weeks and we can already see the difference. Basic breathing activities, writing feelings and thoughts in a private diary, vocalising feelings and emotions, pointing to emotions cards if not able to express how one is feeling and recharge activities are just a few of the things the children have been partaking in.
We would like to encourage parents to continue practising mindfulness at home.
