Prestige College welcomes Gr 8’s
The transition from Primary School to High School is a big step and change in any child’s life. Moreover, the fact that you will only get to see your family once a month, that is certainly an even bigger change in a child’s life. Being a boarder is not easy, especially when you are in grade 8 and not used to being away from home. Being in grade 8 and being boarder means starting to learn how to be independent. You learn how to make your own decisions without your parents being there.
The Grade 8 learners of Prestige College arrived on 12 January for their camp. They learnt school rules and the school song. New friendships were made and fun was had with the prefects. “Hostel is good, I love the people in the Hostel. I am good with my teachers and don’t mind explaining multiple times. I love my block prefect as she always lends a shoulder to cry on. Ma’am Kgoathe is a nice person, she just wants respect.” said Reagile Rampou.
“Hostel is not what I expected it to be, it’s actually nice. I like that I’m always with my friends. I prefer doing corridor duty than
bathroom duty. I like my block prefect as she’s fun and easy to talk to. I also like the extramural activities. I want to join marimba. ” said Kganya Motaung.
