St Paulus Primary’s Interact Club members visited the SPCA
SPCA “FEED THE DOG” DRIVE
The Interact Club members visited the SPCA in Waltloo at the end of 2019 and helped to count the coins which were dropped into our “SPCA Dog,” which stood at the tuck shop for a month. Our dog contained R3 042. Thank you to all who so generously fed our dog. It has been confirmed by Dewald Wahlstrand, General Manager of SPCA, Tshwane, who met our children when they visited, that ours is the first and only school which has hosted the SPCA Dog and that this is the largest amount that has been collected in any one Drive.
After seeing the plight of so many abandoned domestic animals, mostly, dogs, our Rotary Interact Club also made the decision to donate R10 000 of the money which they have raised during 2019, towards the care of abandoned and neglected animals, most especially over the festive season.
The SPCA has featured a picture and has included an article about our Rotary Interact Club visit to the SPCA and the handing over of our donation, in the Rekord.
Thank you to Rebecca Queiros who organised for us to host the SPCA Dog at our school.
